Kalahari Resorts Water Park

Kalahari is one of the biggest water parks in Ohio. It features an indoor and outdoor water park with massive waterslides, wave pools, and lazy rivers, plus a Safari Adventure Park with a zoo, rope courses, a zipline, and a climbing wall. Kalahari also offers lodgings, which you might be interested in since it could easily take several days to experience the entire resort to the fullest.

Ghostly Manor Thrill Center

As its name suggests, Ghostly Manor Thrill Center is best known for its haunted house — perfect for a scary Halloween night out on the town! Follett House Museum

For a complete look into the history of Sandusky, you can visit the Follett House Museum. This museum has made it its mission to collect, compile, and preserve important documents, photographs, and artifacts detailing the history of the city and Erie County. The house also features a widow’s walk that offers a fantastic panoramic view of Sandusky with Cedar Point just in the distance. Best of all, it’s free admission!

Eleutheros Cooke House and Garden

Housed in a Greek Revival-style home that dates all the way back to 1844, the house and its accompanying garden are their own living exhibits, offering visitors a look into what life was like way back then, with antique furnishings and decor that reflect its historic origins. Originally the home of Eleutheros Cooke, Sandusky’s first lawyer, and father of Civil War financier Jay Cooke, the house changed hands for many years before eventually being bought by its current owners, Randolph, and Estelle Dorn. Because of this, it’s often called the Cooke-Dorn house.

Sandusky Children’s Museum

Want to take your kids out of those water parks? Take them to the Sandusky Children’s Museum for a fun and educational experience, with interactive exhibits, seasonal activities, and live science experiments that even adults will learn something new. Children get free admission!

Shoreline Park

Located right on the shores of Lake Erie, Shoreline Park gives you the opportunity to relax, swim, fish, or idle the day away right beside the famous lake. This park features a playground where kids can play and concession stands where you can buy food, although you’re totally welcome to bring your own picnic lunch for a beautiful day out with family and friends.

Firelands Winery

Want a romantic day out with loved ones or friends? Firelands Winery is one of the best wineries in the entire state of Ohio and is a great place to take that special someone out while you’re in town.
